There’s a South Korean drama taking over the internet is The Devil Judge starring popular actors Ji Sung and K-pop group GOT7’s Park Jinyoung in the lead roles. Starring as Kim Ga-on, he is being hailed for his incredibly strong screen presence especially during some of the most heartbreaking emotional scenes. Jinyoung, besides being known an amazing singer and songwriter, is also an actor to watch out for. Prior to his music debut in 2012 with JJ Project and 2014 with K-pop group GOT7, Jinyoung has been working on his skills since way back. He has done smaller roles in The Legend Of Blue Sea, cameo in Melting Me Softly and is gearing for another big screen project. But, there are shows that he has worked as pivotal characters before grabbing his lead role in He Is Psychometric which termed him as rising star.

DREAM HIGH 2 (2012)
Being Jinyoung’s debut drama, this show is the sophomore season of 2011’s hit teen drama Dream High. The famed Kirin Art School goes bankrupt and is taken over by an entertainment agency. Kirin’s students are then transferred to a new school. The drama features GOT7’s JAY B and then-newbie actor Park Seo Joon led the cast.

This show is fantasy romance drama about a girl named Joo In Hyung whose life changes after her mom’s death, when a group of mysterious yet handsome men enter her life, featuring all seven members of GOT7.

Magic School is a drama about a group of fourmen in their 20s who happened to enter a magic school and start experiencing things that were least expected and face magical moments hidden in their daily lives. Jin Young plays LeeNa Ra, a university student, who doesn’t know what he’s passionate about in life and learns magic in the hopes that it’ll help him figure things out. The drama also stars another idol-slash-actor, 2PM’s Nichkhun.

STRAY GOAT (2017)
Jinyoung made his big screen debut with this movie where he plays the role of transfer student named Cho Min Shik. The movie focuses on the boy’s relationship with the girl from the same class, who is bullied, is a heart wrenching story that will tackle the topic of school violence.

HE IS PYSCHOMETRIC (2019)
In He Is Psychometric, Jinyoung is Lee Ahn, a free-spirited high school student with the psychometric ability to see a person’s or object’s past just by touching them. With his unique ability, he teams up with his adopted brother and police to help them solve cases. Thing is, he gets tangled up in one particular case that has something to do with his tragic past. This was his first lead role in drama world and proved himself to become a star in the making. One particular scene in the morgue sets the audience in heartbreak and truly ensured that the actor is here for a long run when it comes to performances.

WHEN MY LOVE BLOOMS (2020)
This show is shown in two different timelines – the present day and the past when the couple met in college. The drama starts out as a college romance between Han Jae Hyun and Yoon Ji Soo and is set in the 1990s. The show stars Yoo Ji Tae, Lee Bo Young, Park Jinyoung and Jeon So Nee. The former play the older couple whereas the latter play their past. They eventually part ways but reunite decades later in present-day Seoul. Jin Young plays the younger Han Jae Hyun, a college student who’s involved in their school’s political movement.

THE DEVIL JUDGE (2021)
The Devil Judge is a law courtroom, thriller mystery drama starring the lead character Kang Yo Han, being played by actor Ji Sung, who is ruthless head trial judge who wears legal robes in order to hunt down villains. Jin Youngi stars in the role of an orphaned associate trial judge named Kim Ga On, who shines as the one ray of hope in a dystopian world.

Meanwhile, Jinyoung will next star in Yumi’s Cells, Starring Kim Go Eun and Ah Bo Hyun, it is based on webtoon of the same name. The story revolves around Yumi’s thoughts and feelings. The drama is told from the point of view of Yumi’s braincells. Jinyoung was offered the role of Yoo Babi, Yumi’s second boyfriend.
He will also make his way to big screen again with High Five. The action-fantasy movie is about five ordinary people developing superpowers after receiving organ transplants from previously super powered beings and having to fight against another group of people with superpower transplants who covet their powers. Jinyoung will be playing one of the five leads.
